Injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese twin-engine fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model has finely engraved surface texture, a clear cockpit canopy and a photo-etched part with cockpit detail. The box offers decals for the People's Liberation Army Air Force and plenty of hardpoints for stores. The exact contents follow the particular boxing.
The Xian JH-7 (NATO code name Flounder, known for export as the FBC-1 Flying Leopard) is a Chinese two-seat fighter-bomber developed at Xi'an. The upgraded JH-7A version brought improved avionics, a lightened structure and more pylons for stores. The aircraft serves with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and with naval aviation for strikes against ground and above all naval targets, and it carries both anti-ship and anti-radiation guided missiles.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the two-seat cockpit before you close up the fuselage, and mask the canopy. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; the Chinese gray tactical schemes suit good acrylic or enamel paints and a patient light wash to pick out the engraved lines. Assemble the stores according to the mission you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
