1:100 Nahuel is a kit of the Argentine medium tank in 1:100 scale from the brand Zebranomodel. The model is meant to be glued and painted; it is not a finished product.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nahuel belongs to those subjects that are practically unobtainable in the modeling range, and for that alone it is worth attention. Zebranomodel has put it into its wide range of small models in 1:100 scale, where it builds quickly and brings something to a collection that not everyone has. The model is supplied as a kit. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the material of the castings are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Nahuel was a medium tank developed and built in Argentina in the first half of the 1940s. It came into being in a situation in which importing armored vehicles from abroad was difficult, and it therefore represented an attempt at a domestic design resting on the available industrial base. The vehicle carried a 75 mm gun in the turret and supplementary machine gun armament. It was built in a small series and saw no combat in any conflict; it served mainly as a training and representative vehicle. The exact numbers built and the dates of introduction differ in the sources.
Argentine vehicles usually carried a uniform shade without camouflage, which sounds simple, but a single-color model in 1:100 easily looks like a lump of plastic. The answer is to work with light: lay the base shade on thinly, then lighten the upper surfaces and the hatches slightly, darken the areas under overhangs and add a very thin wash. In this scale it pays to replace the machine gun barrels and the antennas with fine wire — the molded parts are usually thicker than scale would suggest. Paint the tracks or the running gear before you fit the upper part of the hull. At the end, a matte clear coat and discreet dust; overdone weathering reliably kills a small model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
