An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat Russian Kamov Ka-50 attack helicopter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model is marked by good detail for the scale, finely engraved lines and clean molding without flash. The box holds plastic parts, a clear fret and a decal sheet with Russian color schemes.
The Kamov Ka-50, nicknamed the Black Shark, is an unusual attack helicopter with a coaxial twin-rotor layout, which replaces the classic tail rotor with a pair of contra-rotating main rotors. It is one of the few attack helicopters flown by a single pilot. Its armament consists of a 30mm cannon, anti-tank guided missiles and rocket pods; development began in the 1980s.
Assemble the coaxial rotor head with both main rotors; this type has no tail rotor. Paint the cockpit and the interior before you close up the fuselage, glue the clear glazing in at the end and mask the frames. Glue the landing gear, the stub wings with their armament and the small parts with liquid cement for plastic, applied in drops. We recommend a primer and spraying with an airbrush; a green and brown camouflage is typical, and a dark wash will bring the engraved lines to life while drybrushing picks out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
