A plastic kit of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-61 in the I Tei version, 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ki-61 was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War and an exception among the production Japanese fighters of its day: instead of a radial engine it received a liquid-cooled inverted V12. The slender nose with the radiator under the fuselage gave it a silhouette that Allied airmen often mistook for European types. The I Tei version belongs to the late machines of the first series, recognizable by the lengthened fuselage and the heavier armament housed in the nose.
This is a plastic kit, that is a set of parts to be glued and painted. The model does not come finished or painted. To finish it you need a glue for plastic models, paints and basic modeling tools. The part count, the contents of the decal sheet and the finish options on offer are stated by the manufacturer on the box and in the instructions.
In 1:72 scale it pays to work in small steps. Cut the parts away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part, sand the remainder down and dry-fit the joints before gluing. Paint the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together. Mask the canopy glazing before spraying and glue it with a product that will not fog the clear part. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Leave the propeller and the landing gear for the end of the build so that they do not get in the way while handling it.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
