Eduard 1:72 Ki-61-Id is a set of precisely cut masking stencils for spraying the cockpit glazing on a model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking stencils in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for painting the frames of the glazed canopy of a Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien model cleanly. The masks are cut to fit that canopy, so the edges of the frames come out crisp and even with no slow cutting of masking tape. Sets of this kind usually contain wheel masks as well.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War and the only Japanese production fighter powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine. The Allies knew it by the code name Tony. The Ki-61-Id version was among the later production machines. The aircraft served in home defense and over the front in the Pacific.
Lift the masks off the sheet, place them on the glazed areas and press them down. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. As a rule the interior shade is sprayed first and the covering color of the frames afterwards. Take the masks off once the paint has dried and wipe away any adhesive residue gently.
This is a masking accessory, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
