A masking set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate fighter aircraft. The pieces are stuck on before the paint is sprayed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate was among the highest-performing Japanese fighter aircraft of the close of the Second World War. It was a single-seat machine with an air-cooled radial engine, carried by the Allies under the code name Frank. For a modeler it is a rewarding real subject mainly because of the divided glazing of the cockpit, where the boundary between the paint and the clear area is noticeable at first glance.
Masking pieces in 1:72 scale for a model of the Ki-84 Hayate. The shapes are cut in advance and match the areas that are to stay free of paint after spraying. The extent of the set, the recommended order of sticking on and the kit the shapes are cut for are all given by the manufacturer in the instructions, so verify the match with your own model before buying.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, onto a dry and degreased surface. Lift the pieces off by the edge with tweezers and press them down with a blunt tool along the frames and into the corners, because that is where the paint runs under most often. Apply the paint in thin coats and let it set between them. Take the mask off shortly after drying, while the coat is still flexible, and pull it back over itself at an angle, not straight up.
A model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
