Eduard SPACE 3D decals for the Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate in 1:72 scale. Color cockpit detail that is applied like a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a kit nor a photo-etched set. It is an accessory from the SPACE range, that is color decals with three-dimensional, raised printing, which are applied to cockpit parts like a decal. They have a noticeable thickness and a relief surface, so even in the small 1:72 scale they give the instrument panel and the side panels legible detail without painting under a magnifier.
The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate was a single-seat fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force of the end of the Second World War. It was powered by the Homare radial engine and at the time of its deployment was among the best-performing Japanese fighters of all, with a decent rate of climb, heavy armament and armor protection for the pilot. The quality of the production machines, however, was marked by the worsening state of Japanese industry and the shortage of fuel.
The surface has to be smooth, degreased and preferably sealed with a gloss coat, otherwise the decal goes dull and reveals its edge. With a sponge and a drop of detergent moisten only the backing paper, lift the element with tweezers and settle it in place, then draw off the excess moisture with a soft cloth. Fix the element with PVA glue (white glue); the manufacturer rules out a decal softener for the SPACE range, because it attacks the printed resin. At the end, take the sheen off the cockpit so that the instruments do not reflect light.
The set does not contain the model, paints or glue.
