A resin conversion set for the Czechoslovak Aero L-29 Delfin jet trainer in 1:72 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but a precisely cast detail accessory that lets you build the L-29R reconnaissance version from the base kit.
The L-29 Delfin was the first jet aircraft of domestic design built in Czechoslovakia and it became the standard trainer of the armies of the Eastern Bloc. It was powered by a Motorlet M-701 turbojet. The L-29R reconnaissance version carried photo-reconnaissance equipment in the second cockpit and differed in the shaping of the nose and in the camera ports. The resin parts cover exactly those different sections, so that an ordinary kit of the trainer version turns into a reconnaissance aircraft.
Resin parts need more careful preparation: wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, carefully separate them from the casting block and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Check the fit against the fuselage before gluing, fill and sand any gaps, then spray the base color and pick out the engraving with a fine flowing wash.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
