A model of the German main battle tank Leopard 2A5/A6 in 1:72 scale. One package covers both later versions, which differ mainly in the length of the gun barrel.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank that still serves with a number of European armies today. You can tell the A5 version by the wedge-shaped add-on armor on the front of the turret, which presents sloped faces to rounds coming from ahead. The A6 version grows out of the A5 and the main difference is in the barrel: it was given the gun in the longer L/55 form, while the A5 stayed with the shorter L/44. The L/55 figure is the length of the barrel in calibers; the caliber on both versions is 120 mm.
The 1:72 scale takes up little room with military vehicles. The hull alone comes out at just under 11 cm, and with the barrel forward the assembled model is roughly 14 to 15 cm long depending on the version. A model like that fits even into a smaller display case and suits groups with aircraft and figures in the same scale.
In a small scale the paint does most of the work. Spray in several light layers, so that the fine detail is not clogged, and let a dark wash run only into the recesses and the seams. Dry brushing on the edges will help bring out the shape of the turret and the wedge armor. Put the running gear and the tracks together according to the instructions and check that the wheels sit in one plane. Glue the small parts, such as the grab handles and the antennas, right at the end, otherwise you will knock them off while handling the model.
Paints, glue, filler and add-on sets are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
