About product

Brengun 1:72 Luftwaffe wheel chocks - two types (photo-etched accessory)

This set from the Czech manufacturer Brengun is not a model but a photo-etched detail accessory for 1:72 scale. It contains wheel chocks in two forms of the kind the Luftwaffe used to secure parked aircraft. The parts are made up of thin brass sheet and give a scene or a standalone model on a stand a realistic detail that is otherwise hard to make in plastic.

Use

  • Nip the parts out of the fret and fit them together against the real thing; the photo-etched chocks are folded and glued into shape.
  • Bend them over the edge of a ruler or in a photo-etch bender and fix the joints with a drop of super glue.
  • Place them under the main landing gear wheels of a model on a stand or in a diorama.
  • The kit wheels are not included - the chocks are only an accessory to go with them.

Painting tips

Paint the finished chocks in a wood or metal shade to match the real thing and bring them out with a dark wash that emphasizes the edges and the joints. A light touch of dust and mud from dry pigments ties them visually to the surface of the airfield, so they do not look like a clean new part.

Who the accessory is for

For modelers of Luftwaffe aircraft and builders of airfield dioramas in 1:72 scale who want a convincingly parked aircraft. Also suitable as a small addition to a display case. Working with fine photo-etch assumes basic dexterity and patience.

This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
