An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1070 vehicle in the gun truck configuration, in 1:72 scale from Takom. The box contains clear parts, a photo-etched fret and decals for one marking option. The model captures both the massive forward tractor section and the armored superstructure at the rear of the bed.
The M1070 is a heavy tractor from Oshkosh, originally intended to carry the M1 Abrams tank on a trailer. In the fighting in Iraq some of the machines were converted into so-called gun trucks: they received an armored cab and protected firing positions on the load bed, so that the crew could survive ambushes and improvised explosive devices.
First assemble and paint the chassis and the suspension, and only then close up the body. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Bring the desert scheme to life with washes and dry pigments for dust and mud effects, and apply a fine dry brush to the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
