About product

M7B2 self-propelled howitzer in 1:72 scale (UM)

This injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian maker UM captures the American M7B2 self-propelled gun with a 105 mm howitzer. The set contains plastic parts, decals, a photo-etched fret and instructions.

The real subject

The M7 was an American self-propelled artillery piece with a 105 mm howitzer on a tank chassis, nicknamed the Priest after the machine-gun position that resembled a pulpit. The M7B2 version came out of a postwar modification with a raised gun position for greater elevation, and it served among other places in the Korean War.

Building and painting tips

The open hull lets the interior fittings stand out, so assemble and paint them carefully before closing the side walls. Use a thin cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. An olive base coat, washes and pigments to bring out the detail work well.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of self-propelled artillery in 1:72 scale
  • Anyone interested in American vehicles of the Korean War
  • Modelers who will appreciate an open hull with an interior
  • Builders of dioramas with artillery vehicles

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
