1:72 McDonnell-Douglas FGR.2 Phantom Pt.3

Xtradecal 1:72 Phantom FGR.2, Part 3 (decals)

A sheet set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal. It offers alternative camouflage and unit markings for McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 machines in British service. Intended for plastic models of the Phantom FGR.2 in this scale; the kit itself and the paints are not part of the package.

The real subject

FGR.2 is the British designation of the fighter and ground-attack version of the Phantom II (the factory F-4M) with Rolls-Royce Spey engines. It served with the Royal Air Force in the role of air defense, tactical reconnaissance and attack on ground targets, among other things with squadrons in Great Britain and in West Germany.

Use

• Cut the decals out with a narrow margin and coat the surface under them with a gloss varnish.
• Dip in lukewarm water, slide onto the surface and fine-tune the position with a softener.
• Once dry, go over with a matte or semi-gloss varnish to unify the surface.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the British Phantom FGR.2
• Those interested in less usual squadron markings
• Collectors of British post-war equipment
