Armycast 1:72 MiG-21bis Cockpit Set is a resin set for detailed work on the cockpit of a MiG-21bis fighter model. An accessory for a plastic kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin cockpit set from Armycast for models of the MiG-21bis fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the simplified interior from the original kit: in small scales the cockpit is the most visible internal part of a model, and that is exactly why it is worth dealing with it through a separate accessory. The package is not an airplane kit.
The MiG-21bis was the last major production version of the widespread family of single-engine MiG-21 fighters. Against the older versions it was given a more powerful powerplant, a reworked dorsal spine and more up-to-date cockpit equipment. The instrument panel, the side consoles and the seat on this version differ from the earlier machines, so an interior meant for the MiG-21 in general need not match. The aircraft served in many countries and is still one of the most frequently built Cold War subjects.
Wash the parts, dry them and only then paint them. The cockpits of Soviet machines usually keep to one dominant shade, on which a dry brush and a dark wash in the recesses show up well. Finish the instrument panel last; the dials can be picked out with a drop of gloss varnish, which gives the impression of a glass face. Always try a dry fit of the cockpit before you cement the fuselage — a resin tub tends to be a little thicker than a plastic one and sometimes the sides need sanding down.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
