An injection-molded plastic kit of the modernized Russian MiG-29 9-19 SMT fighter, Fulcrum in the NATO code, in 1:72 scale from Great Wall Hobby. It is modern tooling with a high part count and fine detail, among the best renderings of this type in its scale.
The MiG-29 is a twin-engine fourth-generation fighter with the characteristic aerodynamics of a blended fuselage and wing. The modernized SMT version, factory designation 9-19, brought a larger fuel capacity in a dorsal spine, more modern avionics and wider options of underwing armament, which turned a light frontline fighter into a multirole machine with greater range. Fulcrum is its designation in the NATO code.
Given the high part count, follow the instructions and watch the order of assembly; finish the detailed cockpit before closing the fuselage. Protect the glazing by masking it and glue the clear parts with a cement for clear parts. For the plastic use a thin modeling cement. Lay on a primer before painting and apply the modern Russian covering schemes with an airbrush. Fit the underwing armament and the pylons only after the clear coat, and set the decals onto a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
