This injection-molded plastic kit from Zvezda captures the heavy long-range MiG-31B interceptor in 1:72 scale. The model offers an intricate surface, armament and landing gear and is meant for modelers who will appreciate a large and imposing aircraft in their collection.
The MiG-31, in the NATO code Foxhound, is a two-seat supersonic interceptor developed to destroy targets at great distances, including low-flying missiles and bombers. It was among the first production fighters with a powerful radar using electronic beam steering, and its main armament consisted of long-range guided missiles. The MiG-31B version brought improved equipment over the base type.
Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints down and treat the surface with a primer. We recommend an airbrush and the typical Soviet and Russian gray camouflages; a fine wash will accentuate the panel lines. Before closing the fuselage, do not forget the cockpit and the nose landing gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
