The Mitsubishi A6M, designated by the Allies with the name Zeke and better known as the Zero, was the main Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War. The A6M5 version, that is the Type 52, came about in an effort to keep pace with the opposition: it received a shortened wing with rounded tips and individual exhaust stacks, whose thrust added to its speed. It was powered by an air-cooled Nakajima Sakae radial engine. It was the A6M5 that became the most numerously built version of the whole series.
It is a kit in 1:72 scale, that is in the most widespread size for aircraft models. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The extent of the parts, the number of marking options and the recommended shades are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Try the parts dry before gluing, cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest. Glue the cockpit glazing on only once the interior is finished and protect it with masking tape. Wash and degrease the model before painting. The single-color upper finish of Japanese carrier machines tempts one into a dull flat area, so apply the shade in several light coats and keep the differences between panels subtle. A worn finish at the wing root and around the cockpit is well documented on these aircraft and will benefit the model.
Paints, glue and filler are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
