Hasegawa E20 G4M2E with the Ohka aircraft is a 1:72 plastic kit of the Japanese bomber and the rocket craft slung beneath it, with markings for four machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a Japanese twin-engined bomber in the version modified to carry a small rocket aircraft, which is part of the same box. You therefore build both the mother machine and its load. The surface is finely worked on both airframes. The decals cover four machines of one naval air group of 1945, from two different bases.
The Type 1, which the Allies designated by the code name Betty, was a Japanese land-based naval bomber built around an exceptional range. The whole wing carried fuel and the tanks were not self-sealing, so the aircraft flew far and fast but caught fire easily once hit. The version modified to carry the rocket aircraft had the bomb bay doors removed and a shackle under the fuselage. The craft slung beneath it was a small aircraft with rocket power and a heavy warhead, which after release was guided onto the target in a glide. Its use began in March 1945 and was very costly, because the overloaded bomber had to approach within reach of the defending fighters.
Consider in advance whether you want the slung aircraft on its shackle or separately on a stand, and assemble the underside of the fuselage accordingly. Mask the glazing of the nose and of the side gun positions with strips rather than with putty, because the framing is fine. The Japanese green wore away a great deal on the wing, so suggest the scuffed places, but sparingly. Paint the slung aircraft separately and attach it to the finished model only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
