This is a set of pre-cut masks for the canopy, an accessory to the kit given in the name of the product. The model is not part of the package. The set is listed as canopy masking, which means it concentrates on the glazing of the cockpit; do not count on other areas until you have checked the contents of the package.
The de Havilland Mosquito was among the most interesting designs of the Second World War: the twin-engine machine was built largely of wood, which saved strategic materials and made it possible to bring furniture workshops into the program. The night fighter versions, designated NF, are told apart from the bomber and reconnaissance forms at first glance by the solid nose section, which held the radar antenna instead of the navigator glazing. The crew of two sat side by side and the armament was concentrated in the nose and the lower fuselage. It is precisely on these versions that the canopy is complex in shape and hard to mask.
First just lay the masks on the dry canopy and check that all the shapes sit on the right panel. Only then press them down for good. Always work the edge down with a blunt tool, ideally a wooden toothpick, which will not scratch the glass. On frames where the interior shade is to show, spray the interior color first, let it dry and only then carry on with the base color and the camouflage. Thin coats are essential with masks, as a heavy coat builds a step at the edge that shows once the mask comes off. Any adhesive residue that stays behind comes off with cotton moistened with alcohol. Never scrape the glazing with a knife.
