P-39 Airacobra 1:72 — a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in yellow kabuki paper for clean unmasking of the glazing and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely die-cut set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Eduard for a plastic model of the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks in fine Japanese kabuki paper hold well, follow curves and leave no adhesive when taken off. They cover the cockpit glazing and the transparent parts so that only the frames stay crisply bounded after spraying. The set normally includes masks for the wheels as well, for painting the tire and the disc separately.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter of unconventional layout: the Allison engine sat in the middle of the fuselage behind the pilot and drove the propeller in the nose through a shaft. That freed up room for a heavy cannon firing through the propeller hub and allowed a nose landing gear. The Airacobra made its mark above all with the Soviet Air Force, where it was valued for its performance at low altitudes and its heavy armament.
Lift a mask off the sheet with a sharp blade or tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down all the way round. Apply the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge. Take the masks off while the finish is still fresh. The Airacobra had car-type cockpit doors, so give their glazing extra care.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
