P-39Q Airacobra - engine 1:72 from CMK is a resin set of the powerplant for the model of the American fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory for a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin set from CMK is an accessory for a plastic kit, not an aircraft model. It offers a finely cast powerplant of the Airacobra in 1:72 scale for modelers who want to show the engine section uncovered. On the Airacobra this has a special charm, as the engine is not in the nose but behind the pilot in the middle of the fuselage, and the service panels above it were open very often in photographs.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was one of the most unusual American fighters of the Second World War. The liquid-cooled Allison V-1710 engine was placed behind the cockpit and drove the propeller through a long shaft running under the pilot, which freed the nose for heavy armament firing through the propeller hub. The configuration also brought a nosewheel undercarriage, at the time a rarity on fighters. The Q version was the most numerously built variant; a large part of the production went to the Soviet Union under aid deliveries, where the Airacobra proved itself in combat at low and medium altitudes.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the surfaces by wet sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Try the engine section dry in the fuselage before the halves are glued together; with resin inserts material usually has to be removed from the inside. Paint and weather the engine separately while it is accessible from all sides; oil washes and a dry brush bring out the cast detail best.
