About product

Eduard 1:72 P-47D-20

Accurately shaped painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for models of the American Republic P-47D-20 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks are die-cut from yellow kabuki (washi) tape, which follows the frames of the glazing exactly and leaves no adhesive residue once removed. It is neither a paint nor a kit, but an accessory for clean and quick masking, which is especially valued in a small scale.

Use

  • The individual masks are peeled off the sheet and applied to the frames of the cockpit according to the shape of the glazing.
  • The inner areas of the glazing are covered with tape or masking fluid, and then the color of the frames is sprayed.
  • The set usually also contains masks for the wheel rims, for a clean division between the tire and the rim.
  • Once the paint has dried, the masks are carefully removed and reveal sharp edges.

Who it is for

Suitable for modelers who want to spray the cockpit frames of a Thunderbolt cleanly even in the small 1:72 scale, without laboriously cutting tape.

The masks are neither a paint nor a model; the kit itself and the paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

The model of the Republic P-47D-20 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale. The shapes of the masks match the glazing of this version.

No. These are only the masking parts made of kabuki tape. The model and the paints are obtained separately.

Yes, it is precisely in a small scale that the tiny frames are hard to mask by hand, so pre-cut masks make the result markedly more accurate.
