Responsibility details are not available.
This cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale is intended for a plastic model of the American Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter in the D-25 version with the bubbletop canopy. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields with no lengthy hand-cutting of tape.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt is an American single-engine fighter of the Second World War with a massive radial engine and a turbocharger. It was among the heaviest single-seat fighters of its day and proved itself both as an escort fighter and as a destroyer of ground targets. The D-25 version was the first to replace the older framed spine with a bubbletop fully glazed canopy, which gave the pilot an all-round view.
First degrease the glazing of the bubbletop canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing, place them on the frame of the windscreen and of the sliding section and press them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in two thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. The wheel masks separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel them off carefully at a sharp angle so that the fresh coat is not damaged.
The package holds only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
