This is a resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin line in 1:48 scale. It contains landing gear wheels for models of the German Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter. It is not a kit of an aircraft in its own right, but an accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels from the box with more faithful castings with a realistic tire tread and a finely rendered rim. The tires are usually cast with a suggested flattening under the weight of the machine.
The wheels are a detail highly exposed to the eye on a model. Resin castings offer a crisper tread and a cleaner rim shape than injection-molded plastic allows. The set is intended for Messerschmitt Me 262 models in 1:48 scale.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts with warm soapy water. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Masking is handy for a clean division between tire and rim.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
