P-51B 1:72 — a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks made of yellow kabuki paper for clean unmasking of the glazing and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely cut set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the North American P-51B Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. The masks, made of fine Japanese kabuki paper, hold well, follow curved surfaces and leave no adhesive when taken off. They cover the canopy glazing and the other clear parts so that after spraying only the frames stay sharply outlined. The set usually includes wheel masks as well, for painting the tire and the hub separately.
The P-51B was an early version of the legendary American Mustang fighter, with the raised rear fuselage spine known as the razorback and a framed canopy. The decisive turning point came with the fitting of the license-built British Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (built by Packard), which gave the Mustang excellent performance at high altitude. Thanks to its long range it escorted bomber formations deep over occupied Europe.
Take the mask off the sheet with a sharp knife or with tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down all round. Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. Remove the masks while the lacquer is still fresh. On a framed canopy it pays to cover the individual panes patiently one after another.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
