The package belongs to the line which adds further accessories for the same aircraft to the printed instrument panel and the steel belts. The distinguishing feature of this item is the exhausts with an aerodynamic fairing; Eduard releases the form with exhausts without a fairing alongside it, so you choose according to the machine you are building, not according to the look of the box.
The most widespread form of the Mustang joined the teardrop canopy with a lowered fuselage spine and with the Packard V-1650-7 engine, a licensed version of the Rolls-Royce Merlin. Six machine guns in 12.7 mm caliber in the wing and a long range with drop tanks made it an escort fighter which managed to fly with the bombers as far as Berlin. The exhaust pipes were precisely one of the items whose form differed between the individual series.
The exhausts call for a clean cut at the place marked on the casting block and for fine polishing of the seating surface. In 1:72 these are very tiny parts, so work over a light surface and with tweezers. Fit the instrument panel only once the walls of the cockpit are painted, so that the printing is not damaged.
The set does not replace the kit of the aircraft; it completes it with selected parts.
