Seat belts for the P-51D Mustang in 1:72 scale from Art Scale are 3D printed decals thanks to which the small cockpit of a 1:72 model gains believable seat detail without the use of photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for the cockpit. The set contains 3D printed decals of the pilot's seat belts for the American North American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. The belts are transferred by the decal technique, so the bending and painting of miniature photo-etched parts becomes unnecessary, which in this scale is an appreciable relief. The manufacturer is Art Scale.
The P-51D was the most widespread version of the Mustang. It was powered by the Packard V-1650 V-12 engine, that is the license-built variant of the British Rolls-Royce Merlin, thanks to which the aircraft gained its performance at great altitudes. A characteristic feature of the D version is the teardrop canopy with a view in every direction, and the dorsal fin added on later machines. The armament consisted of 12.7 mm machine guns in the wings. It is precisely because of the well glazed cockpit that the detail of the seat is visible on Mustang models even in a small scale.
Paint the seat and coat it with gloss clear, so that the decal does not silver. Soak the decal briefly in lukewarm water, let it rest and transfer it with tweezers. Given the size of the parts, work over a backing and use pointed tweezers. Dose the softener minimally, because the thicker 3D layer can ripple with it. Once dry, take the whole cockpit over with matte clear coat.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The basic model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
