A plastic kit of the supersonic fighter Shenyang F-6 in 1:72 scale, in Pakistan Air Force finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Shenyang F-6 is the Chinese-built version of the Soviet MiG-19 fighter. It is a single-seat machine with a swept wing, a nose air intake and a pair of jet engines in the fuselage; the MiG-19 was the first Soviet production fighter to exceed the speed of sound in level flight, and the basis of its armament was gun weaponry. The Pakistan Air Force was among the most important foreign users of the type and flew it for many years. The Soviet subject came about in the mid-1950s, and Chinese production followed on a few years later.
This is an unassembled plastic kit in 1:72 scale. The parts are cleaned up before joining and glued with cement intended for plastic kits; the model is then painted according to the chosen finish. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the choice of markings are stated by the manufacturer on the box.
Before you reach for the glue, set the main parts together dry and try how they fit; the seams on the fuselage are then easier to fill and sand. On an aircraft with nose landing gear, check whether the finished model sits down on its tail and if need be add weight to the forward fuselage before gluing the halves together. Mask the canopy before spraying, not once the paint has dried, and prepare and paint the nose intake before you close it up. Prepare the small parts only at the moment you are about to glue them; they are easier to hold while being cleaned up and get lost less often.
An unassembled kit is supplied. Paints, glue, putty and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
