1:72 Paint mask Yak-1 double sided offers a double-sided rendition of the masks for the model of the Yakovlev Yak-1 fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item is intended for painting a model and contains no plastic parts. The detail of the double-sided rendition stands directly in the name. With masks for cockpits that usually means that the glazing can be covered not only from the outside but also from the inside, so that the frame looks closed from both sides. A single-sided counterpart is a separate item in this line.
The Soviet single-seat Yakovlev Yak-1 fighter was being introduced into service at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. The design relied on a combination of wood and a metal framework, which made mass production easier in the hard conditions of the war. The type became the starting point for a whole follow-on series of fighters that then served until the end of the fighting.
Fit the interior covering before you close the fuselage, as you will not reach the glass later. Degrease the surface every time, press the edges down firmly and apply the paint in thin coats. Remove the outer parts while the finish is not yet fully cured, and the inner ones right at the very end, so that no dust from sanding gets inside. It pays to work in gloves while doing this, as fingerprints on the inner side of the glass cannot be wiped off later.
