A figure set in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Strelets-R devoted to Polish infantry of the period of the First World War. It is an addition for dioramas and display case scenes, not a kit of a vehicle nor of an aircraft.
The Polish foot formations of the First World War are interesting to a modeler precisely because they get into collections less often than the infantry of the great armies. It is a theme that is missing among the figures commonly made, and at the same time it makes it possible to build a scene from the eastern part of the front that does not look like all the others. The particular details of uniform differed in this period by formation, so it pays to think the painting out beforehand according to the situation you want to depict.
The palette of the period is muted, which puts the emphasis on the modeling of shape instead of on color. Lay a darker undercoat, apply the middle tone over the whole area and use the lighter variant sparingly, only on the raised places. Draw the recesses in with a thin brown wash and lift the edges with an almost dry brush. The headdress and the badges are the most pronounced distinguishing element in this scale, so paint them with a thin brush and heightened contrast, otherwise they will be lost. Do not underestimate the preparation: deburr the parting lines with a sharp scalpel and apply primer, as without it paint does not hold on soft plastic. Join the figures and the bases with cyanoacrylate, as cement for polystyrene will not join this material. The scene will benefit from muddy weathering on the boots and the hems of the trousers.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, bases and terrain material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
