The PZL P.11 was a Polish fighter monoplane of the 1930s, recognizable by its braced high wing cranked into the so-called gull wing shape, its fixed landing gear and its open cockpit. In its day it ranked among the most modern fighters in the world, but aircraft design moved forward sharply in the second half of the decade and by the start of the war it was already falling behind contemporary all-metal low-wing monoplanes. Romania acquired a license and built the aircraft in its own plants under the IAR designation; the P.11F was exactly that licensed production. Ski landing gear was used for operations from snow-covered and unpaved surfaces, which is what field airfields in central and eastern Europe commonly turned into in winter.
The wing and landing gear struts are the key to this type: glue them only once the wing is seated, and watch the angles against the fuselage, ideally with the model on a flat surface. The cockpit is open, so paint everything that will stay visible in it before you close up the fuselage. The engine cowling and the exhausts deserve metallic shades and a light heat discoloration. Work through a primer, spray the camouflage with an airbrush, apply a gloss clear coat before the decals and even the surface out with a matte one once it has dried. The skis leave room for a small winter effect: packed snow and frozen grime on the underside will underline which version this is.
