An imitation of beaver-tail plain roof tiling in 1:72 scale for building dioramas and model scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The beaver-tail tile is among the oldest shaped tiles. You will recognize it by its arched lower edge and by the fact that it is laid with a deep overlap, so that a roof looks fine and regular. In central Europe you will find it on country buildings, farm structures and town houses, from the 19th century to the present day.
The set carries an imitation of tiled roofing in 1:72 scale. It comes into its own on the roofs of buildings in a diorama, on shelters and sheds and on ruins with a partly torn-off roof, where the tiling can be uncovered in sections to reveal the trusses. It will also find a use on small structures such as kennels, wells or garden lean-tos. The number of parts and the area they will cover are given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the rest back with fine abrasive paper. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, so that the paint holds. A roof looks more alive when you break the base shade up with a few differently toned tiles and bring out the joints between the rows with a darker glaze. The gluing procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders of dioramas and display scenes in 1:72 scale whose building is missing a faithful roof, and for modelers who build support areas for vehicles and figures. The building, a base, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
