The Avia S-199 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter derived from the Messerschmitt Bf 109 with a different engine and propeller assembly. In 1948 it became the first fighter type of the Israeli Air Force and played a part in the fighting of the time. The Israeli machines carried distinctive national insignia, which this set reproduces exactly.
