An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sd.Kfz. 232 heavy reconnaissance armored car in 1:72 scale from Roden. It is the eight-wheeled (8-Rad) radio version with a turret carrying a 2 cm gun and a machine gun and with the characteristic frame antenna above the hull. The package holds plastic parts, decals and assembly instructions.
The Sd.Kfz. 232 was a schwerer Panzerspähwagen, that is a heavy reconnaissance armored car on an eight-wheeled chassis with all-wheel drive and steering from both ends. The radio version designated Fu carried a large frame antenna for long-range communication. The cars served the German reconnaissance units from the prewar period and in the first years of the Second World War, valued for their speed and range on made-up roads.
Glue the fragile frame antenna only at the end of the build and keep it parallel. Assemble and paint the wheels and the running gear separately. An airbrush suits the early-war German gray; bring out the edges and the underside of the car with rubbing, washes and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
