About product

Eduard photo-etched seat belts IJA/IJN, 1:72

This is not an aircraft model but a set of pre-painted photo-etched seat belts for the cockpit from the manufacturer Eduard. The set is intended for models of Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) and Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72 scale. The belts are in thin etched metal and come already finished in color, so there is no laborious painting of tiny straps and buckles, which in the small 1:72 scale is a decisive saving of time.

Use

  • Separate the belts carefully from the etched fret and bend them gently as needed: the metal holds the shape it is set to, so they can be draped realistically over the seat.
  • They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a small amount; cement for plastic does not hold on metal.
  • Pre-painted belts only need fine-tuning, perhaps a light pick-out of the edges.
  • In 1:72 scale the parts are very small, so use tweezers and good lighting.

Who they are for

For modelers of Japanese aircraft (IJA/IJN) in 1:72 scale who want a convincing cockpit without the slow painting of miniature belts. Pre-painted photo-etched belts drape naturally and look like real fabric, unlike a flat sticker.

This is an accessory for the cockpit, not a standalone model. The aircraft model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
