Eduard SM.79 Sparviero 1:72 is a set of self-adhesive masking stencils in kabuki tape for a clean spray finish on the canopy glazing of Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masking stencils from Eduard in 1:72 scale for models of the Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero bomber. The masks are cut precisely from yellow masking (kabuki) tape and make it easier to mask the extensive canopy glazing cleanly.
The SM.79 has intricate glazing over the flight deck with many frames, and tracing them by hand is a lengthy job. The pre-cut masks fit the individual panes exactly, so a crisp border forms between the frame and the glass with no bleed. Kabuki tape does not let paint creep underneath and it can be lifted off with no adhesive residue once the job is done.
Lift the masks off with tweezers and lay them on dry, pressing the edges down carefully. The inside of the glazing can be painted in the interior color before masking. After spraying, remove the masks while the paint is still fresh.
The stencils contain neither paint nor glue; this is an accessory to a plastic model sold separately.
