1:72 SM 82 Marsupiale

SM.82 Marsupiale masking set 1:72 (Eduard)

A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the Italian three-engine aircraft Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 Marsupiale in 1:72 scale. This is not a model but a set of pre-cut masks for precise painting of the extensive cockpit glazing and the other glazed areas.

The real subject

The Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 Marsupiale was an Italian three-engine heavy bomber and, above all, a transport aircraft of the Second World War. It stood out for its long range and load capacity and it could carry bulky cargo; the Luftwaffe also used it as a transport in large numbers.

Use

• Separate the individual masks from the sheet and stick them precisely onto the glazing frames.
• Press the edges of the masks down firmly with a wooden stick or a toothpick so that no paint creeps underneath.
• Spray or brush the areas and carefully lift the masks off once the paint has dried.
• Make use of the masks for the wheel rims and the other small curved areas as well, where straight tape is hard to shape.

Who it is for

The set will be appreciated by modelers who build Italian aircraft and multi-engine transports in 1:72 scale and want sharp, cleanly separated glazing frames without the long job of masking by hand with tape. It suits beginners and experienced builders of display models alike.

This is a die-cut masking set, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included unless stated otherwise.
