1:72 Soviet Aces in La-5F's

AML 1:72 Lavochkin La-5F - Soviet aces

A sheet of waterslide decals from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:72 scale for models of the Soviet fighter Lavochkin La-5F. It concentrates on machines flown by Soviet aces, among them Heroes of the Soviet Union.

The real subject

The Lavochkin La-5F was a single-seat fighter of mostly wooden construction with a Shvetsov ASh-82F radial engine. It was one of the mainstays of the Soviet fighter force in the second half of the war and stood out for good agility and toughness. The F version brought changes to the powerplant and better performance at low altitudes.

Use

• Apply the decals over a glossy varnish to prevent silvering.
• Cut the motif out, dip it in lukewarm water and slide it into place.
• Fine-tune the position with a decal softener and blot the excess water away.
• Once dry, seal it with a matte varnish.

Who the set is for

• Modelers of Soviet fighters of the Second World War.
• Anyone interested in the machines of well-known aces.
• Builders in 1:72 scale.

The decals are an accessory for a painted model; the model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
