A plastic snap-fit set of figures of Soviet infantry in winter uniform in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The package contains five small figures and a base with a flag; the parts join without glue. The set belongs to the Art of Tactic game system, but it serves excellently as a companion to dioramas as well.
The figures capture a Soviet infantryman in the winter gear of the years 1941 to 1942: a quilted winter jacket, a fur cap with ear flaps and a greatcoat. It was in this outfit that the Red Army fought in the first winters of the war, for example in the battles for Moscow and Stalingrad.
The snap-fit parts only need joining, but for safety you can secure them with a drop of glue. Paint the winter uniforms in muted khaki, brown and gray tones and bring out the fur trim of the caps with dry-brushing. In 1:72 bet on a clean overall impression rather than an excess of detail.
The set is snap-fit (joined without glue) but is supplied unpainted. Paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
