The set contains five figures of soldiers captured in an informal, non-combat situation. Poses like these are used differently in a modeling scene from classic action figures: they suit the rear area, a vehicle parked out of service, a table or a fire, and they give a scene calm and naturalness. In 1:72 scale it holds moreover that the credibility of a figure is decided above all by the pose and its relation to the surrounding objects.
These are civilian-looking, static poses of soldiers away from combat activity. Before setting them into a scene it is worth comparing the cut of the uniform in the illustration with what your diorama is meant to represent.
Clean the figures, cut them from the casting blocks and stick them to a holder. Leave the uniforms rather faded than saturated; on a small area a faded shade looks more faithful than paint straight from the bottle. After the base, use a dark wash into the folds and light highlighting of the raised areas. With resting poses the contact with the surroundings deserves attention: a figure that is meant to lean against something or to sit has to touch down properly, otherwise the whole scene looks unconvincing. Try the placement dry therefore before you reach for the glue.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue, hardware and the base of the scene are not included in the package.
