Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the British Spitfire fighter in the Mk.IIa version, in 1:72 scale. The name carries the designation Model Set, which is commonly associated with starter packages supplemented by aids for building. What this particular package contains is not stated here; what follows holds without doubt about the real aircraft.
The Mk.II was the direct successor of the first production Spitfires and reached the units from 1940. The sub-version designated by the letter a carried eight 7.7 mm machine guns in the wing and the stronger Merlin XII engine. Machines of this version flew in the closing stage of the Battle of Britain and later escorted daylight sweeps over the English Channel, where they met German fighters.
The Spitfire's elliptical wing does not forgive coarse sanding, because its fine leading edge is easily rubbed away. Work with the finest paper possible, therefore, and rather less than more. Separate the two-tone upper camouflage with a rolled length of putty, so that the transition stays soft. Seat the national insignia on a gloss layer, otherwise a white veil will appear beneath them.
The item is sold broken down; a finished model will come out of it only through the modeler's work.
