A resin replacement broad chord rudder for the Spitfire Mk. IX in 1:72 scale from Aires/Quickboost. An accurate casting of the later, broader rudder.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set brings a precisely cast broad chord rudder for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic part of a kit and makes it possible to build a machine with the later, broader rudder faithfully.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX was a British single-engine fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The broad chord rudder, recognizable by its wider and more pointed shape, was introduced to balance the potent engine better and improved handling above all on take-off and in a crosswind. It tended to be typical of the later machines in the line.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, separate it from the casting block and clean up the faces that meet the fuselage. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin with respiratory protection and use a primer before painting.
This is an accessory for a model, not a stand-alone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
