This is a resin (3D-printed) detail accessory from Art Scale, not a kit. It offers a set of exhaust stubs of the so-called fishtail type with hollow, open outlets, which replace the usually solid plastic exhausts from the base Spitfire Mk.Vb kit in 1:72 scale.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was the most widespread version of the famous British fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Fishtail exhausts are among the distinctive and clearly visible features on the fuselage, and rendering them faithfully markedly improves the look of a finished model.
Wash the parts to remove print resin residue, separate them carefully from the print supports and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. The open outlets will stand out with a dark shade inside. Recommended painting: a metallic brown to burnt steel with light toning using pigments and a wash for the effect of exhaust staining.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
