This starter set (model set) contains an injection-molded plastic model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VB fighter in 1:72 scale and with it a basic set of paints, a brush and glue, so you can get on with the build without further equipment. Decals with markings are usually included as well.
The Spitfire Mk.VB was among the most widespread versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine and against the older versions it received stronger armament: two 20 mm cannons supplemented by machine guns. It was used on a number of fronts from 1941.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a cutter, dry-fit them and join them with modeling cement for plastic. Stir the enclosed paints before use; for finer transitions an airbrush can be added later. A smaller scale forgives small inaccuracies, and even so careful masking while painting the cockpit and laying the decals onto a gloss base are worth it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. In this starter set the basic paints, the brush and the glue are part of the package; further accessories are not.
