This kit from the Ukrainian maker UM captures the Soviet SU-100 tank destroyer in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model with photo-etched parts added; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The SU-100 came about by improving the earlier SU-85 and was built on a chassis derived from the T-34. In an enclosed superstructure it carried the powerful 100 mm D-10 gun, which could hit well-armored targets at considerable range. The vehicle was among the most effective Soviet tank destroyers at the end of the Second World War and served long after it in a number of armies.
First assemble and clean up the running gear, then close the hull and the superstructure. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and glue the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. You will bring the detail to life with a dark wash in the recesses and dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
