Kabuki tape masks in 1:72 for the Sukhoi Su-22 and the two-seat Su-17UM3 in the widest EXPERT scope from New Ware. A pre-cut painting aid, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masks made from Japanese washi paper tape, commonly called kabuki, in 1:72 scale. It is intended for models of the Sukhoi Su-17 family and its export Su-22 version, including the two-seat trainer. With this brand the EXPERT label means the widest scope offered, that is more surfaces covered than in the BASIC and ADVANCED grades. Please check the exact list of parts against the packaging and the enclosed instructions.
The cockpit of this family has heavily divided glazing with a fairly dense network of frames, and the two-seat version extends it further with a second station. In 1:72 the individual frames are often less than a millimeter wide, so cutting tape by hand is slow and the result is uneven. A pre-cut mask keeps the same frame width along its whole length, which shows immediately on the finished model.
First look the parts over on the sheet and dry-fit them so you know where they belong. Transfer them one by one with tweezers and press the edge down thoroughly with a toothpick. The recommended procedure is to spray the edges first in the interior or primer shade, which seals them so that any bleed is invisible, and only then apply the top shade in two or three thin coats. Remove the mask shortly after it has dried, at an acute angle and back over itself. Keep the remaining sheet in a sealed bag, as the offcuts are useful for masking small details.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
