This is a resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the engine exhaust nozzles on a plastic kit of the Su-33 Flanker D. Resin allows a fine rendering of the petals and of the inner structure of the nozzles, which in plastic are usually simplified.
The Su-33, NATO reporting name Flanker D, is a twin-engine carrier-based fighter derived from the Su-27 line and adapted for operation from an aircraft carrier. The pair of circular exhaust nozzles at the rear end is a prominent feature, which this set refines in 1:72 scale.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the nozzles separately in metallic and heat-stained shades and only then fit them to the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
