The Su-34 is a Russian twin-engine combat aircraft meant for attacks on ground targets. What tells it apart from the other machines derived from the Su-27 family at first glance is the wide forward fuselage in which the two-man crew sits side by side. The cabin is therefore unusually roomy, and on a model every unfinished detail gets lost in it.
The set consists of color three-dimensionally printed interior elements carried on decal paper: instrument panels with displays, side control panels, seats with restraint belts and small cabin controls. The elements have a thickness of their own, so once seated they stand above the surface and look three-dimensional. A three-dimensionally printed resin part rounds the set out as well. The layout matches the Trumpeter kit in 1:72 scale.
The film elements of the Quinta QD range are applied like a decal. Cut the part out, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so first clear the surfaces in the cabin of burrs, degrease them and coat them with a gloss clear coat, on which the element holds most reliably; in intricate places a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution: they would attack the printed resin. Work the added printed part differently: remove the remains of the print supports, sand the cut, wash and degrease the part and glue it with cyanoacrylate, because it is not polystyrene.
The set is for the modeler who wants legible instruments in a roomy cabin without painting dials with a brush. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
