This kit from the Ukrainian maker UM represents the Soviet SU-85M tank destroyer in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model with photo-etched parts added; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The SU-85M was the late configuration of the SU-85 tank destroyer. It came about in the transitional period when production was shifting to the SU-100: the vehicle combined the proven 85 mm gun with a superstructure box enlarged to the SU-100 pattern, which improved the internal space and the crew's work. The vehicle was built on a chassis derived from the T-34 medium tank and was fielded in the closing phase of the Second World War.
Assemble and clean up the running gear before you close the hull and the superstructure. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Bring the base coat to life with a dark wash in the recesses and dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
