A waterslide decal sheet in 1:72 scale intended for models of the late Spitfire in its F.22 version. The sheet offers markings for particular machines and adds national insignia, codes and other lettering to a model. The printing is sharp, with accurate register and a thin carrier film.
The Supermarine Spitfire F.22 was one of the last versions of this fighter, powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. It was distinguished by a bubble canopy, a redesigned tail and more robust landing gear. It served mostly after the Second World War, among other places with reserve squadrons, and represents a marked departure from the early Merlin-engined Spitfires.
Coat the base under the decal with gloss varnish to prevent silvering. Let the decal soften in lukewarm water, slide it into place and press it down. Decal softeners make it easier to settle them onto surface detail. A final matte or satin varnish unifies the markings.
